Senate Presidency; game of cash

According to governors from Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, two candidates vying for the third and fourth highest offices in Nigeria’s elections are allegedly planning to bribe lawmakers with up to $1m each to secure their positions. The governors did not name the candidates but warned that they are members of the APC.

Currently, senators-elect are beginning to lobby for the presidency of the upper chamber in Nigeria’s 10th National Assembly. Some of the senators-elect interested in the position include Ali Ndume, Akpabio, Orji Uzoh Kalu, Jibrin Barau, and Mohammed Sani Musa, among others. However, the report does not mention the names of any aspirants who may be vying for the Nigerian Senate President position specifically.
